Obfuscation
A 3-layer reversible transform (XOR + byte permutation + bit rotation) produces a non-plaintext package; loads without a public key, ideal for internal tools and prototypes.
Sign & encrypt
Ed25519 signature + AES-256-GCM encryption verify origin and integrity and prevent tampering — for production and commercial distribution.
Unpacked files
Mark files such as .node native modules as unpacked — neither obfuscated nor encrypted — so they load straight from the filesystem.
